My Sister's Keeper
PG-13
An adaptation of Jodi Picoult's bestseller. I do prefer the novel and was disappointed with the dramatic change with the ending. Though it differs from the book, parts of the movie is still heartbreaking.
Quote: Most babies are accidents. Not me. I was engineered. Born to save my sister's life.
Anna Fitzgerald was conceived out of a genetic necessity to save her older sibling Kate who was stricken with terminal cancer. She provides compatible body matter since she was a baby. Tired of being a body parts harvester she decided to seek medical emancipation from her parents. Not a bad casts(except for Alec Baldwin, he should not be Campbell Alexander! ) but the surprise of the bunch is Cameron Diaz. I' ve seen her in so many ditzy roles that I was sure she could never capture the essence of the mother. Sara, a woman so consumed by her desire to keep her daughter alive that she was blinded to the irreparable damage she's doing to her family. A good flick for the library.
