October 9, 2009
A sort of mix of a few ideas from a few more successful rom-coms I felt. Has a few funny moments and a strong cast who are from some good comedies. Worth a watch but not a patch on the likes of Meet the parents.

This comedy theoretically has all it takes: A promising set up situation, talented actors and all that jazz. Why the film doesn't work after all has several reasons: there aren't just too many jokes working, the characters of Carl and Molly take turns in being asses while Dupree ...( read more)

Not a side-splitting comedy, but has it?s fair share of comical moments. Owen Wilson?s character is truly annoying as the guest who has well and truly outstayed his welcome. This is one of those, sit back and relax, easy watching films ? perhaps a bit of a comedown for Michael ...( read more)

This movie was playing on one of my local listings, and periodically, I would flip to see what was transpiring. Nothing much. This entire movie was built on the dreary, formulaic structure of love found, love lost, love found again. Kate Hudson and Matt Dillon could do so much...( read more)

Critic Reviews
Wilson deserves better, too. He's too smart to make me believe he'd actually think this movie is funny. full review
Yet another comedy about a man-child who won't grow up, You, Me and Dupree has the faintly stale smell of food left overnight on the counter. full review
If Wilson's trademark grin is looking jaundiced by the finale, he has only himself to blame. With You, Me and Dupree, he has produced a movie as lazy and immature as its title character. full review
You, Me & Dupree is best when Wilson is on-screen, mucking around with exquisite deadbeat timing, baring his all -- or his almost -- as the situation demands. full review
Director brothers Anthony and Joe Russo manage to keep the pace moving for the first two-thirds, steering clear of overt touchy-feeliness or extreme gross-outs. Then they suddenly lose their grip, and... full review
Owen Wilson delivers, of course — but he delivers what he always does: a blue-eyed, fluffy-haired amiability that's pretty much irresistible, and the picture is as light and insubstantial as an ... full review
You, Me And Dupree drains Owen Wilson's tank of charm down to the fumes. full review

February 21, 2007Can I please have the last 90 minutes of my life back? Not anywhere near as funny as it could have been, and it kinda pissed me off... everyone kept getting mad at Carl and he's the only one I found legit! Owen Wilson kept me from crying or falling asleep but that's about it.
