Compared to the remake, this is just God-awful. Violent, shitty and stupid, this is what gives anime a bad name.
A much-derided manga, Vampire Hunter D is an adequate ampire picture.

The movie has a nice gothic and dark athmospher and a nice story. D is a good caracter. Not the best anime i've seen but still watchable and I understand why it's a classic. The english voice cast could have done a better work... People say the 2001 movie is better, I'll find out...( read more)
Very brilliantly animated gorefest of a horror film. Lots of disturbing moments and scares, but it's a beautiful and haunting horror film. When I was really young, I used to watch this at night and fall asleep to the music.

This movie is the best! I'm not sure why it says it's released in 1993 though, I have the vhs of it and it says it was made in 1985. Oh well, great movie ^_^ (And not suprisingly better then the sequel but the sequel is the freakin best too)
