I have complained many times before about unnecesary over stylization, but here the case is quite the contrary, as happens with that sensationalistic and pseudo intellectual dogma movement, there is nothing interesting in its mise en scene, no storytelling skill whatsoever displa...( read more)

woww - a film that really makes you think. I loved it and I'm sure several ideas in this film will haunt me for days to come. Highly recommendable.

Interesting and infuriating in equal measure. Has a wonderful one room scenario but spoils it with cinematography that looks like it comes from some cheap television show and a score that sounds like it was used in a charity advert. On top of that the majority of performances can...( read more)

My main complaint is with the production values. The dvd looked horrible on my 1080p.
A man tells his friends he's 14,000 years old at his going away party. Who can believe him? Why should he care?
Set in a single room, this movie could have been shot for a figure in the l...( read more) -

Finally, a Sci-Fi film for thinkers! No aliens, no space ships, no robots... just a 14.000-year-old man and a group of teachers discussing issues like humanity, immortality and religion. I'm not sure yet what to think about this. The first impression - which normally is the most ...( read more)

Interesting enough story about a man who reveals to his friends just before moving that he was a cave-man and has never died. His professor colleagues debate and question the validity of his story in this film that would fare better I believe on the stage. The entire movie take...( read more)

I loved the premise of this movie. Typically, I prefer movies that take me to new places and this one did, in the mind. A man is having a going away party and drops a bombshell on his collegues. He's 14000 years old!!! Do you believe him? Can you believe him? The ending was also ...( read more)

August 26, 2008Loved the premis of this film. Maybe too generous giving 5* rating but its so minimalistic, purely a conversation in one room (a la 'an inspecor calls') with a bunch of colleagues that kept me gripped throughout the entire film, and a great subtle twist at the end.
Goes to show hollywood doesn't need big budgets to make great films. You just need a good story good actors and a great script/dialogue. Fantastic performances from Tony Todd and all other cast members!! -
July 25, 2008SPOILER ALERT!! SPOILER ALERT!! I some what agree with Jemmielrey in that the film takes pleasure in ridiculing the the Christian faith and I happen think that's wrong, just like ridiculing any other faith for pleasure is wrong. First of all, to me the film would have been much more believable if the main character wasn't Jesus himself but a well known lesser Bible character. Secondly, I thought the characters assumption that the myriad of Bible translations constitutes different Biblical messages was erroneous, they all follow the same message. Thirdly, the fact that other religious faiths have the same story elements to them, such as the virgin birth, does not disprove Christianity. I don't care about the Vatican's opinion on anything. I did find Daniellsamson's comment "LOL" perplexing. Are you texting your teeny bopper friends? Write an intelligible comment? I'm sure you have something more to say.

January 28, 2008Though the action is restricted to one setting, the movie is extremely stimulating!Although there are no aliens or such represented, it creates a much more believable story than they would do. It is one of those movies that you wish they would never end...
