Every once in awhile and actor comes along that you just want to beat the hell out of. That actor is Mike Meyers. I don't know why but with him doing the same schtick over and over again, constantly flashing that god awful Canadian smile at us it just pisses me off. I don't get i...( read more)

The only way the Maple Leafs will ever win another cup, in a comedy, This movie is more then stupid.

Terribly offensive. It felt cruel to laugh, but I did every now and then, reluctant to admit. How did he get so many famous names to agree to be in this movie?!

It?s hard to take any of it seriously -- which would be fine if it were funny, but it?s not.

Good freaking lord did this suck. What the hell has happened to Mike Myers? Did his sense of humor get taken from him by an alien experiment or is he just not that funny and has been getting by on his staff writers for all this time? This movie was so bad I didn't last 30 minutes...( read more)

Critic Reviews
Funny in fits and starts, though the fits are a little convulsive and the starts seldom come with a convincing ending or pay-off. full review
Schnabel's bland direction expresses no particular vision. full review
Mike Myers' new comedy, The Love Guru, is a disappointment, but it's not a disaster, and that's at least something. full review
The picture, written by Myers and Graham Gordy and directed by Marco Schnabel (no relation to Julian), is listless and pokey, chiefly because watching Myers in this particular guise is almost complete... full review
This is dangerous advice for a writer to give (talk about glass houses), but Mike Myers needs an editor. He needs someone with a fat red pen to scratch out a few of his worst bad habits. full review
The Love Guru is downright antifunny, an experience that makes you wonder if you will ever laugh again.
The movie not only violates the Law of Funny Names (which are usually not funny), but rips it from the Little Movie Glossary and tramples it into the ice. full review
It's a silly spoof that is occasionally funny but grows tedious with excessive mugging and bad punning. full review

July 10, 2008wow this is bad, like that pink panther remake, a few smiles , a couple short laughs and this thing was over, it stinks. meyers has stolen sacha baron cohens accent from madagascar, at least timberlake was in an SNL style character MM was all over the place, a few Austin powers style jokes just made me think how better they were in AP. i don't recommend this to anyone ever, theres plenty better out there.
reply to beneath yes Mariska Hargitay has a cameo
edit: oh yeah jessica alba is in this but i forgot, thats how important her role is -

July 7, 2008This movie was terrible; absolutely horrible. I like Mike Myers and loved Wayne's World and Austin Powers but this was a complete and utter disaster. I literally sat through this waiting and telling myself, "this is Mike Myers, Austin Powers, it just has to get better". Do not waste your time or you will be kicking yourself as I am.
