Well, it?s a classic and the blueprint of most modern action films but unfortunately it also represents the beginning of poor sequels to fantastic films all in the name of profit. Shame. Rambo is less cool.

A lot of negative reviews I see, but what about the heart of the movie? Doesn't it make you remember the main point--Vietnam and the POW's still there? How they were treated when they came home?

So there are flaws in the movie, we know when Rambo fires the missle in the helico...( read more)pter, the guys in back would have been toast, but that didn't matter. It's good against evil; and if you know anything about that time frame, you can see so much "truth" in characters like Murdock and what goes on in reality.

The action is excellent, non-stop, with heart, and instead of critical and harsh comments on acting, look at the Broad Picture here, or like Murdock...did you forget too?

A hell of an action film, well done stunt work (mostly done by Stallone) Well worth watching for many reasons.

Not bad, a beefer and more exhilerating action extravaganza. But vert unbeliveabe but still proves to be enjoyable

"Sir, do we get to win this time?"

It was fate that after the massive worldwide success of First Blood that Stallone would be compelled to reel out another film.

Rambo: First Blood Part II casually tosses away the intelligence and charm of the fi

...( read more)rst movie. Instead of a character study it's a simple mindless heartless study of characters being blown apart in creative ways. Of course this is in no way a negative because this is the king of all action heroes with a massive machine gun, a rack or ammunition and one enormous knife used to dispatch the grunts. However, a straight-up heartless action adventure movie is never going to be a masterpiece like the first movie.

Rambo: First Blood Part II is a lot more cartoonish and brainless. It is the furthest thing from a brilliant movie but at least it scores as moderately good entertainment. The script penned by Stallone and James Cameron compliments the excellent over-the-top battles that I found myself enjoying quite a lot. This is mediocrity at its best!

After the events of the first film, Vietnam veteran John J. Rambo (Stallone) is found breaking stones and being forced to work while in prison. Rambo's former mentor Col. Trautman (Crenna) offers Rambo a shot at redemption and an opportunity to be removed from prison. But he must be sent into the heart of the Vietnam jungle in a top-secret confidential operation to investigate the possible existence of American POWs that weren't released when the war concluded. While in the middle of the jungle and stirring up all hell with tonnes of surrounding soldiers, Rambo is abandoned and betrayed. Now Rambo must prove accomplished with a firearm; unleashing a completely badass one-man war.

Rambo: First Blood Part II is increasingly stupid and lacks the ingenuity of its predecessor. After about a 40-minute build up we are then treated to 40 minutes of non-stop action and corny, embarrassingly laughable dialogue.

If you're looking for a bunch of action then I'm sure you'll be delighted. If you're looking for intelligence and absorbing characters like the first film, don't watch it. If you don't like the action genre, don't watch it. I cannot stress that enough.

Stallone is still a strong actor who gives Rambo everything he has. Wielding an assortment of different guns and killing hundreds of men...this is the kind of film that action lovers have wet dreams about. There's plenty of explosions and a fantastic arsenal as well as a great array of expertly executed stunts. Richard Crenna, as always, is a great Trautman. The biggest cliché present in the film is that the villains are all villains without a shadow of a doubt. They look evil, they speak as if they're evil, they commit evil acts. In the first film there were no clear-cut heroes or villains. The audience interpreted it for themselves.

Rambo: First Blood Part II is an action film that is destructive and entertaining. Being a fan of the action genre I found myself really enjoying the action that the film had to offer. Unfortunately, there was nothing else to find here. Followed by Rambo III.

I'm glad I saw it if only to see a film spoofed so many times.

None of my friends would let this movie slip by me. They said that it was nothing like the first one. I liked it but my friends know that I cant watch a movie where one guy single-handedly conquers Vietnam (or where it was set)... with a buck knife no less. Other than the pure in...( read more)sanity... I liked it. The story had a lot people (Stallone) out of charactor or overacting, but wudya expect.

    Julia Nickson is gorgeous!!!
Stallone is not a good actor....well....but he was on top of his career....
His masculinity simply gives pleassure to the audiences!!!
Back to VietNam, back to his home....and now we can see the real Rambo!!!

A fair action flick if you love to see a lot of explosions and violence and vengeance, or maybe if you just have nothing better to do and want to kill some time.

    Cast:Sylvester Stallone,Richard Crenna,Steven Berkoff,Charles Napier
    Genre:Action,War
    Year of release:1985
    Riunning Time:95 minutes

    Plot:
John Rambo who is now in prison after the ruckus he caused in the previous movie, is approached by his former superior, Colonel Trautman. It seems that the government's looking for American MIA's in Vietnam, that are still being held there. Now the man in charge of the mission, Murdock, tells Rambo that his job is to go in, confirm their presence by taking photographs. Rambo senses that Murdock is not what he seems. Rambo goes in takes the photographs, but also takes one of the prisoners with him. When Murdock learns of this, he orders the chopper that's suppose to pick him up to pull out. Rambo is then captured. Obviously Murdock's desire was not to find anyone. Trautman warns him that Rambo's going to come after him. And that's what Rambo's going to do but first he is going after the Vietnamese and Russians, who brutalized him.

    Review:
In 1982,we witnesed the birth of everybody´s favorite killing machine John Rambo in the excellent action thriller First Blood.Years later,Rambo returns in Rambo:First Blood Part 2,the second installement of the most emblematic action franchises of all time. This is personally my favorite of the series because is one of the grandaddies of the genre.Who ever grew up with Rambo, will enjoy this amazing movie that has everything that action fan loves.

Sylvester Stalllone returns as more tougher and deadlier John Rambo,a little different than in the first movie. Some people may hate him in this kind of movie but i don´t because he was amazing as he always has been. What i loved about the story is the fact of Rambo returns to Vietname and rescue the prisioners of war.I think Rambo did what the Governement could never do in my opinion.Stallone established in this movie as an action icon.
Richard Crenna was great as Trautman,Rambo´s mentor and friend and Charles Napier was such a bastard(in a nice way) as Murdock but we can see him full of fear when Rambo says he would get his ass.

George P.Cosmatos ´s direction was spectacular and the action is freaking spectacular and the visual effects were fantastic(and with no CGI).Now that´s how a action movie is made.

No disrepect for 1 and 4 but Rambo:First Blood 2 is spectacular and a great sequel of the original movie.Rambo is one of the badass heroes of cinematic history and fuck the critics. This movie is a classic of the 80´s.
