I did think a lot of the dialogue was over the top, but Ellen Page's delivery was pretty awesome. I can respect that. As for the basic message of the film, it makes some excellent observations about love, commitment, and how appearances can be deceiving.

This is a pretty good ?indie?. I?d heard good, I?d heard bad about this film. I thought Ellen Page was quite irritating after a while and Michael Cera, deserved more screen time but overall, the story makes up for it and the non-Disney ending was perfect!

I put-off watching when it came out, but when I finally summoned up the stamina for it - something that took 2 years - I was totally underwhelmed by the credit's song. Its not bad. it just had heart-sink stippled all over it's stave.
Once I'd forced myself through that, however,...( read more) -

Juno MacGuff: You should've gone to China, you know, 'cause I hear they give away babies like free iPods. You know, they pretty much just put them in those t-shirt guns and shoot them out at sporting events.
Little 20 year old Ellen Page stars as Juno McGuff, a 16 year old gir...( read more) -

A great original piece by Diablo Cody. I absolutely loved the writing and overall story, its such a perfect love story. I think that the overall product sold itself a little short, throwing it into the vat of indie dramas. Ellen Page was perfect and gave an amazing performance, a...( read more)

Sometimes I hate to hear her speak. However, it's a cute, kind of sad, but ultimately uplifting film. Here's hoping Ellen Page has a bright future ahead of her.
Critic Reviews
A fresh, quirky, unusually intelligent comedy about a 16-year-old girl who wins our hearts in the first scene. full review
A pure charmer and a heartfelt original, you will find this a totally unexpected, enormously satisfying and oddly rewarding trip to the movies. full review
The engaging story, coupled with the character's likable quirkiness, makes for a film bristling with vitality and heart, without resorting to glibness or sentimentality. full review
Juno respects the idiosyncrasies of its characters rather than exaggerating them or holding them up for ridicule.
Though too precocious and polished, Juno manages to charm, with many lovely moments. full review
Prepare yourself for the Juno generation. full review
Juno is more than a few smiles -- it makes you laugh deeply. It's one from the bruised heart. full review
This is an indie crowd pleaser that's much more enjoyable -- in other words, not nearly as horrifying -- as Little Miss Sunshine. full review

June 27, 2008I don't like the message this film sends to teenage girls. Specifically, that teen pregnancy is without consequence. Indeed, the film seems to be conveying the message that you can get knocked up, then give the baby away without emotional trauma, and all the while, your parents won't get mad at you and your boyfriend will stick by you.

June 26, 2008Pretty much brilliantly handled. Lesser writers and directors would've made the pregnancy ultra sappy. And made Juno and Mark a total pedo or seduction angle. Reitman and Cody made the story much more unique and handled it delicately.

June 6, 2008what a film, sensitive at times and it is so laid back, Juno is one of those hidden gems. Juno is misunderstood and has her own unique view of the world and is a great performance from Ellen Page. The soundtrack is great and it works so well with the film and its an easy film to slip into and relax. I love the chemistry between the adoptive father and juno, the parents reaction is perfect, one of support and understanding, no yelling or shouting, they accept their daughter is pregnant and dont make out she is wrong but support her. a perfect film, i cant recommend it enough.
