    The tension in the first part of this movie (i.e chapter 1) is really well done, and i think probably the best part of the movie. It's told in a kind of Kill Bill style (or Kill Hitler style should i say!) with chapters and lots of bloodshed.     Inglouriously ingenious. Entertaining and funny, albeit some pretty gory scenes there, and a wardrobe to die for (pun intended). I laughed from start till end, the stereotypes were played out to death, and I think by now there should be no hard feelings -- good fodder for Taranti...( read more)no-esque humor.

    What can I say. Tarantino always finds new ways to amaze the viewer. This was the opportunity of Inglorious Basterds, a movie full of action, drama and a little bit of black humor that we're used to watch in all Tarantino's movies. It is perfectly narrated and with an excellent r...( read more)hythm, yeah it maybe a little bloody but its never gross, its like I like say entertaining and justified violence. The story is excellent, set in WW II, a group of Jewish soldiers named "the basterds" travel throughout the Nazi occupied Europe killing German soldiers as an act of revenge, and the plot is perfectly written full of twists and with an unexpected ending. The cast is awesome, Brad Pitt, Eli Roth, Diane Kruger, Christoph Waltz, Til Schweiger and even Mike Myers in a very short appearance were astonishing perfect. To conclude, Inglorious Basterds is the best movie from Quentin Tarantino maybe since Pulp Fiction, fully recommended and totally worthy.

    Not the most challenging movie Tarantino could or has made but IT WAS GOOD !
    Lovely actors and they are all so authentic. Nice to see a Hollywood movie with subtitles. Definitely must see it !

    QT's best, most involving, most assured work to date. Pitt owns the dialogue and really runs with it. He is so convincing as Landa, and is creepy, and charsmatic and intense and funny, seriously wonderful. The rest of the cast are quite solid as well. I think this has the best camerawork of any of his films. The shots are beautiful, and there's more than one that I would put into the patheon of most beatuiful shots from any movie ever! The movement of the camera is great, and you can really follow the action well. I believe this is the movie he;s been trying to make all his career. In just the first ten minutes alone there's a good 20 or so allusions, homages, references, and cues from different movies but done to make it fit into this story. The score is to die for, and despite the length, 2 and a half hours, you will not notice it. This movie moves and moves and moves. Amazing in all respects, and one of the best of the year and the best of his career!

    i was really liking it up to about half way... then i just got pissed off. the women in this movie are fucking idiots, 1 - german movie star, who just keeps getting to higher levels as a fucking retard throughout and 2 - french jewish girl who pretty much saved it along with a st...( read more)ella character, who ruins it all but checking if a groaning nazi is really dead then gets shot.

    aside from these 2... i was a little miffed i didnt get to see more from pitts squad, esspecially some more back story on the german nazi killer. this being said after the ladies finished their crap shoot thankfully the film was redeemed by its ending and i esspecially laughed out loud with the end scene.

    sidenote: waltz who played the jew hunter i thought was the best character ive seen in a while.

    While there are fun elements, it's rather dialogue led than jam-packed with action...It's so hollow and protracted that it transforms mayhem into monotony!!!

I mean, I'm all for dialogue-driven stories, but I don't think this movie would have suffered from a little more action. Because 2½ hours is a lot to sit through, when the better part of the film consists of "talking heads". In any case, it's thoroughly enjoyable. Not as good as to be called great, but still the best work by Tarantino since Pulp Fiction.

    Soy fan del Director Quentin Tarantino; el que no a visto ninguna de sus peliculas le parecera nada atrayente. Excelente Soundtrack como siempre, guión y actuaciones. No es una de sus mejores pero la historia me gusto.

    Brad pitt is role of a true us redneck chasing jews all over france..... and bad things is that this killing of Adolf in movie, didn't happend in true life would be much easyer and would be without all those misterys about hes dead....

    all in all one more great movie from greatest director ever well done

    Great film. I'm a big Tarantino fan and this met all my expectations. The acting and directing was top notch. I did feel a little let down by the ending, but all in all a fun ride for two and a half hours.

    I was a little disappointed in this film due to the lack of action. The trailer lead you to believe this was a war movie in the style of the Dirty Dozen, when it is not like that at all. It is however a gripping wartime drama with excellent acting and all the Tarantino trademar...( read more)ks: cool soundtrack, slick direction, good script and dialogue.

    The plot mainly concerns a young Jewish girl who escapes execution at the hands of an evil ss man then runs a cinema in Paris. She is an excellent character played brilliantly.

    Brad Pitt is great as Lt Aldo Raine, but you never see enough of him and his "Basterds" and their exploits which makes the title of the movie also misleading.

    Tarantino took several years to bring this to the screen and it is apparent he must have rewrote this many times. The end result looks like had too many ideas to fit into a 150 minute movie and the ending seemed a little tacked on.
    The costumes and production design are authentic and highly detailed but the actual historic facts are non-existent.

    Another grumble is Eli Roth as Donny "Bear Jew" Donnowitz he stands out as being the worst actor in this movie by a long shot. He really only got the part because he is pals with Tarantino and sadly lets the rest of the fantastic cast down.

    So if you was expecting a Kill Bill style romp you will be sadly disappointed, but it is still a Tarantino film and still good.

    I also love this movie as it is a tarantino number. It also features Eli Roth who is my 3rd favourite director and favourite Tarantino creation "The Bear Jew". The conversations in this movie are amazing and skilled. However during the middle of the film the pace died down a bit ...( read more)and i found myself waiting for some action.

    Melanie Laurent, what an amazing performance. I was completely blown away with her. As for the movie, it needed to be edited down. The dialogue goes from being suspenseful to annoying.     Pretty good movie. Exciting, funny, irreverent, and oh-so American. Tarantino hasn't lost his touch (although Uma Thurman was noticeably missing).     Quentin Tarantino's epic homage to WWII 'men on a mission' films like "The Dirty Dozen" gets his ya-yas out big time in the Herculean task of a revenge fantasy involving the titular band of brothers, a platoon of 8 Jewish American soldiers led by the no- guts, no-glory Lt. Aldo Raine (Pitt, chewing every morsel of cinematic sinew from the bone, in QT's nod to film god Aldo Ray), a Hillbilly from hell, who are out to scalp & kill Nazis while a feverish plan to off the German's military elite - including Hitler ? in a world premiere event at a French occupied cinema run by survivor Shosanna Dreyfus (the beguilingly stoic Laurent), who also wants blood-soaked revenge for the murders of her family by Nazi detective Col. Hans Landa (Waltz, a shoo-in for Best Supporting Actor, as the evil hubris loving baddie here) whose uncanny knack for finding the truth may be his Achilles' heel. Blood-drenched with enough gallows' humor & QT's signature dialogue spewing get the best of the film's intentions in the long run but how can you fault him when this is clearly a valentine to cinema overall.
