Darker and more harder-egded than the previous installments.

Harry Potter returns to its magical self after a somewhat bland third film. The kids were in their robes again; instead of their Azkaban casual wear. This movie further develops the Harry Potter world with his 4th year - the awesome Tri-Wizard challenge brought Hogwart's school t...( read more)o world prominence. The magical characters, settings, and creatures were made real and detailed. I would say this is the best Harry Potter movie yet. The scenes have great enchanting storybook production values. The events are dark and significant. I felt Harry's fear of Voldemort's powerful return.

It's my favorite of the books, but the movie tried to cram in WAY too much in a short time. It needed to be AT LEAST a half hour longer. At least.

La saga Harry Potter continue !!

On voit encore Harry évoluer petit à petit, surtout sur le coté émotionnelle, par exemple en amour. J'ai cependant hâte qu'il fasse un pas plus prononcer dans son évolution. Reste à voir !

A good film but the story started to get a little samey, it's really just a filler between two far superior instalments.

This is one of my favorite Harry Potter movies (the first and second were my top favorites in the series). Goblet of Fire was my favorite book in the series and even as much as I loved the movie, the book was much better (the books usually are better though).

Kurt Loder, MTV

In the book this is a wholly engrossing story -- an epic tale of good
and evil and loss and yearning. Transported to the screen, however, it
has sustained a few dinks and dents. full review

Anthony Lane, The New Yorker

[Newell] cannot do much about the slightly tired sadism that is creeping into the cracks of the Potter franchise. full review

David Edelstein, Slate

It's always a treat to see what big-studio-franchise cash can produce in the way of top-flight British (and Irish) actors. full review

Edward Havens, FilmJerk.com

What was a sneaking suspicion after the first three movies has become irrefutable proof [here]: if you are not a fan of, and intimately familiar with, the Harry Potter novels, you're not welcome here full review

November 17, 2005
Moira MacDonald, Seattle Times

Though the special effects in this film are often breathtaking, the real drama is here is exactly where it should be: in a young man's frightened but resolute eyes. full review

November 17, 2005
Claudia Puig, USA Today

It's scarier than the previous three movies and more poignant. full review

November 17, 2005
Amy Biancolli, Houston Chronicle

Before the final credits roll, the Potter saga has transformed into a fully matured allegory of elemental struggle, a knock-down drag-out between opposing forces. full review

November 17, 2005
Stephanie Zacharek, Salon.com

It balances the exhilaration of independence -- one of the great joys of growing up -- with the sobering realization that being a grown-up means there's no one around to protect you. full review

November 17, 2005
Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times

[Newell] balances delicately between whimsy and the ominous, on the uncertain middle ground where Harry lives, poised between fun at school, teenage romance and the dark abyss. full review

November 14, 2005
Peter Travers, Rolling Stone

It's hard to resist. full review

mkaay don't get me wrong i love the harry potter movies. but i guess the books r a LOT better then the movies and any real HP fan would agree. They leave too much of the important details out.
but anyway its a good movie.

All of these movies have dramatically changed the way that I look at films, I want to thank J.K.Rowling for what she has made and also thank her for making one of the most looked at and famous movies in the world, good on ya, Joanne! And the actors and actresses that have worked for this movie and the people who have created it, I would like to give them the biggest clap in the world!

This is one of the best movies ever!!!=D You have to be mad not to like it! and the Trio are the best actors!(& actress!) Cuz they wouldn't have gotten this far if they weren't good!!!=)<3

I must comment about 'JonasSister97' that this is a ficional story, it's not ture, and why whould God care about a made-up character?
