I was very young when I first saw this. Back in the 80s Brooke Shield was one of the hottest teens. This romantic story involves 2 young loves who discovers experiences in lives and reaching adulthood. Uncorrupted by the world

The Terminator
Decided to view this 80s classic again while waiting patiently for the premier of much anticipated Terminator Salvation. There is no better person to play a cyborg than Arnold. It is relentless and heartless. He made the quote'I'll be back', a classic. A compelling sci fi which laid the groundwork for the terminator sagas.

64
Witness (1985,  R)
Witness
Listen, lady, you take my picture and I'm going to rip off your brassiere and strangle you with it." was one of my favourite scene from Ford in this movie.
To me, this was more of a love story, a forbidden romance than a cop drama as the story unfolds. Ford was fine in Raiders and yes he still puts up a decent performance here. I find the romance between the characters Book and Rachel is not convincing enough. Kelly Mcgilis was not making any effort here.
65
The Color Purple (1985,  PG-13)
66
Ladyhawke (1985,  PG-13)
67
A View to a Kill (1985,  PG)

The Goonies (1985,  PG)

72
Back to the Future (1985,  PG)
Back to the Future
Marty McFly: Wait a minute, Doc. Ah... Are you telling me that you built a time machine... out of a DeLorean?
Dr. Emmett Brown: The way I see it, if you're gonna build a time machine into a car, why not do it with some style?
Back To The Future is definitely one of the largest film icons of the 1980s and it stood the test of time. Michael J Fox was the perfect choice to play Marty McFly. Lloyd 's a standout as the crazed scientist. What's not to love about this classic gem. Magnificent soundtrack from Huey Lewis and the news, remember the hit The power of love? A wonderful time travel sci fi comedy.
73
Back to the Future Part II (1989,  PG)
Back to the Future Part II
The sequel here has better effects and a better storyline. The plot has more twists and turns. Loads of fun gadgets here. For me, it's a visual treat watching McFly working the futuristic hoverboard and that thing is better and cooler than a skateboard. BTTF2 will not make sense to you unless you have seen and comprehended the first movie of the trilogy. From the present, to the future, back to the present, then back to the past, buckle up and enjoy the phenomenal ride.
74
Pretty in Pink (1986,  PG-13)
75
The Golden Child (1986,  PG-13)
76
Highlander (1986,  R)
77
Stand by Me (1986,  R)
Stand by Me
A fantastic adaption from Stephen King's novel The Body. This is a timeless classic that brought back memories of childhood adventure. River Phoenix was an excellent and gifted child actor and it is a pity his life was cut short. My favorite scenes were the train and campfire scenes.Awesome oldie's songs like Stand By Me and Lollipop brought smiles to my face. A great coming of age film.
78
Fire With Fire (1986,  PG-13)
79
Short Circuit (1986,  PG)
Short Circuit
I am ecstatic to know that a remake of this 80s film is in the works. Number 5, will be ALIVE again. Sweet.

Aliens (1986,  R)
84
Platoon (1986,  R)
Platoon
A war movie that is close to perfection. Each time I watch this, I appreciated this Oliver Stone's masterpiece more(wrote and directed). It portrays the very harsh realities of Nam war. Best ever performance from Charlie Sheen.
85
Top Gun (1986,  PG)
Top Gun
This one is visually stunning considering that it was done in the mid 80s. It looked cool, sounded really cool(the fighter jets). Sure the dialogues are corny and cheesy but so what, its a classic blockbuster.
86
Labyrinth (1986,  PG)
87
Masters of the Universe (1987,  PG)
88
Hamburger Hill (1987,  R)
Hamburger Hill
Based on true events. It was Vietnam, 1969, Hill 937, 10 days, 70 percent casualties. New recruits were sent on a suicide mission to capture the insignificant and well-protected Hamburger Hill.
Brutal and very bloody but downright realistic too.It is not as high-budgeted, as Platoon and Full Metal Jacket but just as deserving in credits.
89
Full Metal Jacket (1987,  R)
Full Metal Jacket
From the barracks to the battlefield scenes, this is one compelling drama. It is split in 2 parts. The 1st covers the nightmare of the Marine training( I find that this was the stronger part of the movie) and the other the nightmare of combat in Nam. Vincent D'Onofrio's unforgettable as Private Pyle. So innocent and lovable in the beginning and then truly horrifying the next. Full Metal Jacket" is one of the best films of the 80's ,courtesy of a top notch director, Stanley Kubrick.
90
The Princess Bride (1987,  PG)

Good Morning, Vietnam (1987,  R)
Good Morning, Vietnam
It is always a pleasure watching this film again. I truly enjoy Robin Williams's full-frontal comic intelligence. He is indeed a gifted chameleon, he could impesonate almost any character and makes viewers laughs. This one is a real treat after watching somber films about Vietnam, such as Platoon and Hamburger Hill. It is an uplifting film. It is loosely based on the true story of Adrian Cronauer, an air force radio DJ who was transferred to Vietnam.

A great list. It's funny to see most people growing up in the 80's enjoyed the same films. Some classic films came from that era.
